The city of Olbia is a center under development accelerated, jumping several intermediate stages, is leaving the marginal role that had until the early '60s for that of the driving forces of the territory of North-East. The expansion of the city, which occurred for later additions, has given rise to an organization around the compact city center, an expansion along the major rivers that denote the characteristic shape of petals, but also to non-harmonic growth, which affects only a few manufacturing and service sectors (mainly tourism related) while others remain outstanding or even discovered.
The group focused primarily on issues relating to demographic developments within the urban grid sudden now saturated. The idea was to propose conditions of "emergency" that use the space as a space constructible facades, through the addition of new parasitic-cell or inside a backpack with different functions and different energy proposals so giving 'rise to a new system of public and private spaces integrated into the urban grid.

I found out about Future City Lab recently and am very excited and inspired by the project.
I am a Berlin-based writer with an interest in architecture and sustainability. I am writing an article for the newly founded Tremors magazine for their forthcoming issue, entitled Aftermath.

• The main changes concern not so much the ideas behind the project as the mode of development. Unlike the previous version of this vision has mainly variations in energy recovery systems in the demographic and water recycling system.

The idea was to create a district that was self-sufficient from an energy standpoint, however, focusing on individual buildings so that they could work together, thus providing a significant contribution to the community.

This vision incorporates previous ideas adapted in order to be able to be integrated with the existing urban area. The group then sought to develop new systems that use the skeletons of existing buildings as if they were interchangeable housing slots for new cells and new digital communication systems.

This vision represents a variant of the previous one in which the reorganization of space involves the demolition of all structures with little interest and little architectural quality and the implementation of new systems and modular housing with each other (both fixed and mobile) to form a new urban grid of the previous, but less dense with more development opportunities.

• The main changes concern the approach to the situation, it is no longer just an added system as a new way to reorganize the existing urban space by moving cells and playing with the remaining spaces.
