This project promotes sustainable urban factory design based on creating efficient shipping methods, maximizing work and storage space, and improving employee work conditions. Thus rather than relying on sustainable design as mere technological clip-ons, this project strives to rethink architecture as a discipline which is inherently grounded with ecology as a major design component. This could be achieved by creating a modular container system as shipping containers, work spaces and employee lounges, which would operate and move along a solar powered tracking system that would run on existing infrastructure. This system would conserve energy, decrease production time, minimize mistakes, and enable factories to expand or shrink on a need-only basis, which further cuts down on building costs and gas emissions.
